Jiffyloc is a family owned and operated business. Principal owners are Mike Lanz, Scott Lanz, Greg Lanz, and Lori Strong. The father, Donald Lanz, now retired, started in 1962 manufacturing wire products for the heating and plumbing industry. The Jiffy duct hanger and Jiffy pipe hanger have been widely used in North America.

The early company also made Jiffy paint can lid openers and served the painting industry as OEM to other industry manufacturers. At one time, they marketed paint rollers under the Swiss Home brand in the Northwest.

The company saw a need for a rugged, durable, quick-release extension pole and handle system; and in March 1999 began testing concepts, filing their first patent application in early 2000. The U.S. Patent Office has recently issued patents for the Jiffyloc quick-release system and for the Jiffyloc extension pole, patent numbers 6671930 and D486060S, foreign patents are now pending.
